Following the daily wear and tear to the existing fenders at Ramsgate Port the local harbour board contacted Ovenden Allworks and we were given the task to replace these timbers.

The access to the works was challenging due to the working area being on the outmost pontoons of the Harbour, made more difficult by working above water. The works were undertaken whilst maintaining access to the pontoons and mooring open for the local fisherman and visiting boats.

Over a week a total of 85m of hardwood fender strips were placed on the outer most pontoons at Ramsgate Harbour. A clever and innovative access method had to be adopted to facilitate the work under any conditions and tides.
