Ovenden Allworks Health and Safety PPE

OUR APPROACH;

Once a project has been secured, we follow a 5-step procedure to ensure the works are undertaken in a safe and responsible manner.

Identifying the Risk

  • A desktop study is undertaken reviewing drawings and using all available pre-construction information.
  • Site visits are undertaken to review the site conditions and location.

Mitigate the Risk

  • Site and task specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are produced that identifies the safe systems of work.
  • A risk register is compiled

Communication/ Implementation

  • A site induction is undertaken for all personnel on the site where the risk and safe systems of work are explained.
  • Daily briefings by the site manager to run through the upcoming tasks.
  • Toolbox talks are undertaken to review and alert the workforce to any specific hazards and risks.

Review

  • Construction sites are not static- and neither is the Health and Safety. As the project develops and the risk changes, the safe systems of work are constantly reviewed and adapted.
  • Our Health and Safety Manager conducts regular audits throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • These audits are now paperless, the clipboard and paper has been retired and a tablet is now used with bespoke auditing software to suit our types of work and produce a report.

Report

  • We share the results of these audits with our clients and other relevant parties.
  • They are also reviewed internally to ensure the safest system of works are being employed.
  • Only reporting honestly on our own performance can we learn and improve, allowing us to continually develop our Health and Safety process.
